Our name says it all!
Nevada is bursting with outdoor wonders just waiting to be explored. Forests, rivers, lakes, grasslands, meadows, deserts, and beyond—the Silver State is filled with diverse environments. Get Outdoors Nevada’s mission? Ensuring everyone can enjoy these special places!
Nevada boasts extensive public lands (about 85% of the state!), open for exploration thanks to agencies like the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, US Forest Service, and more. Add state parks and local gems into the mix, and adventure opportunities abound! You’re probably familiar with well-loved sites like Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. But don’t overlook newer sites like Gold Butte Monument, Arrow Canyon Wilderness, and Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. Plus, in Clark County, urban trails bring nature right to your doorstep!
However, not all Nevadans, especially kids, have easy access. Get Outdoors Nevada is changing that. Our programs connect academic learning with Next Generation Science Standards through nature-based classroom programs and field trips. Our volunteer stewardship opportunities are open to all, providing meaningful service opportunities in parks and trails, while making a difference in our community. We’re on a mission to level the playing field so everyone can enjoy the outdoors. Your support, whether through partnerships, donations, or volunteering, makes it all possible. By joining in, you contribute to keeping Nevada’s outdoor spaces incredible. Ready to connect with Get Outdoors Nevada? Let’s make it happen!”
