OUR PROGRAMS Whether you are a frequent recreationist, an occasional outdoor enthusiast, or a seeker of solitude, you can play a vital role in enhancing the outdoor recreation experience for Nevadans and visitors to the Silver State. Get Outdoors Nevada continually focuses on engaging youth and individuals through educational programs that instill the value of stewardship and community involvement. We organize events that unite diverse groups of outdoor enthusiasts. We also create a positive economic impact for the communities in which our projects and events take place. Our combined efforts promote education, volunteering, and community engagement. Education Get Outdoors Nevada offers a wide range of nature and science education programs, designed to connect diverse audiences to the benefits of the outdoors. Our programs include formal and informal classroom programs, school assemblies, teacher trainings, guided field trips, transportation funding, native habitat creation and restoration, and outreach at fairs and community events. Although our programs mainly focus on reaching underserved youth, we also reach teachers, professionals, and the general community. Volunteer Volunteers who give their service to our community's parks and trails are the heart of our organization. They help keep Nevada’s urban trails, community landscapes and local parks beautiful and our volunteer programs active. More importantly, they share their skills, contribute their time, and enhance our lives. Get Outdoors Nevada connects volunteers to special outdoor places through service events at local parks and trails, providing all the equipment to get the job done. Opportunities exist for the general public to join in, or for specific group events created for businesses or organizations. All of us can help to transform our community and have a positive impact on the landscape.
