With more than 7.5 million acres of public lands—including numerous state and national parks—Nevada is a wonderland of majestic natural landscapes, including forests, rivers, lakes, grasslands, meadows, deserts, and more. It’s filled with abundant wildlife, too, from pronghorn antelope to tortoises. No matter where you venture in the Silver State, there are scenic drives and opportunities for outdoor fun. There are also opportunities for individuals to volunteer in the outdoors as hosts or guides, for which Get Outdoors Nevada offers two nationally certified interpretive training programs. These are open to individual volunteers, educators, parks professionals, concessioners, tour guides, and anyone else who works with the public.
The program consists of Certified Interpretive Host Training and Certified Interpretive Guide Training.
Our next Certified Interpretive Guide training is scheduled for February 12th to 15th, 2019. For more information, or to register, visit this website.
