Join us on Saturday, June 4 at Cathedral Rock for a late Spring clean-up event! We hope you can join us for a hike up Cathedral Rock to remove graffiti.
The hike is a moderate to strenuous hike along a fairly steep incline, leading to a steeper section before ending with beautiful views of the Spring Mountains. The hike is about 3 miles round-trip. We may encounter ice and snow on the trail, even in June.
Join us a on Saturday, June 4th from 9am-11am for a special volunteer celebration of National Trails Day at the Mt. Charleston Visitor Center. Volunteers will be removing trash and debris from the visitor center trails located just behind the site. Parking is available on site at 2525 Kyle Canyon Rd, Mt Charleston, 89124.
Registered volunteers will receive a meeting spot map and event details a few days before the event.
All ages are welcome, minors without an adult guardian present will need to bring a signed waiver. Waivers will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.
Join this one day workshop to learn how to set up and conduct a field trip to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. We'll cover logistics and standards based activities. This is a free course, and eligible teachers will receive 2 CU's.

We are excited to partner with Go Mt. Charleston! for our next workshop series. First up, we have our introduction to planning day trips. We will cover the basic information you should research before a trip, share our simple trip planning form with you (trust us, we wish we had it when we first started planning trips!), and practice planning a trip. We will be joined by staff from Mt. Charleston to give you the inside scoop on their policies.
We are excited to partner with Go Mt. Charleston! for our next workshop series. Our second workshop of the weekend will be our 10+ Essentials. We will cover the officially recognized list of ten essential pieces of gear that you should have on you for every outdoor adventure as well as one more that we like to encourage folks to add. You will build a 10+ essentials kit that you can take home with you worth over $50.
We are excited to partner with Go Mt. Charleston! for our next workshop series. Our third workshop of the weekend will be our Trip Best Practices. We will cover all of the things to consider to make sure you are recreating responsibly. Come learn about ways to take your family and friends on trips and know that you are prepared for unexpected situations.

We will cover how to prepare for a trip to make sure that you have what you need when the unexpected happens. We will review the 10+ essentials, but focus on handling medical information (or not) and building out a first aid kit that you get to take with you.
