Greenhouse Nursery Maintenance Day

In partnership with The Special Projects Nursery, join us for a plant nursery spring cleaning on Saturday, April 1st from 9am – 11am. The Special Projects Nursery is a small, local nursery that grows many native plants found here in our Mojave desert. The plants they grow and sell have gone to many of our pollinator habitats. There is no staff at this nursery – it is completely volunteer-based and needs your help! You can expect to remove weeds, trim plants and shrubs, repot growing plants into larger containers, move heavy plants to different hardiness zone, and do other projects as needed by the nursery.

We will be meeting at the nursery located inside of Floyd Lamb Park at 9200 Tule Springs Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89131. Space is limited and registration is required. Registered volunteers will receive a meeting spot map and event details a few days before the event. All ages are welcome, minors without an adult guardian present will need to bring a signed waiver. Waivers will be emailed to registrants prior to the event.

Please monitor your own health, if you are experiencing any symptoms of an illness or don’t feel well, we ask that you reschedule your volunteer shift with us. If you are feeling well and symptom free, wear closed toed shoes, bring plenty of drinking water for yourself. 

We continue to make the safety of all our volunteers and staff members the number one priority. Get Outdoors Nevada staff is up to date on all recommended Covid-19 vaccinations. We will continue to follow local health data and support the recommendations of the state and city municipalities for safety protocols and guidelines.
